Naomi had an Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Class in Berkeley. I wanted to find something unusual to do for the two hours she would be in class. I Googled museums in Berkeley & discovered the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology in the Valley Life Sciences Building (VLSB) on the Cal campus. Vertebrate zoology was my favorite college biology course. The only problem was that I didn’t phone ahead. When I arrived, I found that the museum is not open to the public. But, between the departments of Zoology & Paleontology on the 3rd & 4th floors, there some wonderful exhibits to view. Before & after, I walked around the Cal campus. Later we met some friends at a pop-up Hawai’ian music event in the Tonga Room In the Hills of the Claremont Hotel, for cocktails & pupus.

Returning from an outing back to class in the Valley Life Sciences Building?
Tyrannosaurus rex, Osborn, is at the centerpiece of the atrium of the Ca. 1930 Valley Life Sciences Building. Above Osborn is Wallace, a large Pteranodon with a 22-foot wingspan.
"Stop by and say hello to Osborne, a fully formed tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur!"
Smilodon, also known as the Saber-toothed Cat, is the state fossil of California.
Below it is the skeleton of a domestic cat.

…while he was at the Shadow Mountain Correctional Facility Cañon City, CO while doing 3 years for burglary.
I went to the storefront that used to be a favorite spot of ours, PASSIONE CAFFE. It was now a pizza by the slice place. They told me about Blue Bottlte Coffee around the corner.
Matcha blondie with a macchiato. Perfect.
