I rolled out of the driveway to bike & join my Mountain Bicycle Buddies for a ride around the lakes of the Marin Municipal Water District on Mt. Tamalpais. I noticed that I had one level of pedal assist power remaining on my Giant Stance E (A.K.A. “Stan”). Whoops. I had plugged in the bike but failed to plug the other end into the electric socket. I knew that I would have to take a shorter route on the mountain. The remaining pedal assist power ran out about 7/8’s of the way up to Five Corners. Phew. The rest was all downhill to Deer Park in Fairfax. After that it was a flat ride though Fairfax, San Anselmo & Ross to home in Kentfield. This would be no problem as Stan, despite the weight (about 54 lbs.), has really low gears for me to use. The low gears help overcome the issues of the weight & knobby tires. If one of our rides should end in Fairfax’s Deer Park, it’s usually later in the day. This time, because it so much earlier, the ride home provided different light than I usually encounter. I didn’t have my FujiFilm X 30 camera with me so these photos were taken with my iPhone 12 Pro.
