Meanwhile, back in Brooklyn…

Our building with B grade, as it was at our last visit in October 2021.
But across the street, an A!
The former, c. 1890’s, 22nd Precinct is the NYPD’s Special Victims Division. The facilities have gotten some major upgrades, from new paint jobs to new waiting areas and plant-lined interview rooms for survivors.
But, with an Energy Efficiency Rating of D, it still has a long way to go.

A storm was brewing.

There was to be an event in the children's garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. We got there early & there were very few people. Suddenly it was inundated with strollers & tons of kids. We got out of there lickety-split.
We found a less crowded spot with a retired pre-school teacher/docent.
The "OY"/"YO" sculpture outside the Brooklyn Museum draped in solidarity with the Ukraine.
Make a caption contest.
Must be the latest style as this was the 2nd one I saw.
Nannies discussing distribution of tasks.

This c. 1906 station was rebuilt & reopened in 1999. When I was in my 1971-73 residency at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital, right behind it, I don’t remember it being here. It wasn’t safe then to meander around the neighborhood.

Mt. Prospect Park.
“Mount Prospect, the second highest point in Brooklyn, draws its name from the sweeping vistas it affords viewers. It was used by the Continental Army in 1776 as a lookout point, which at that time offered strategic views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, New York harbor, a portion of New Jersey, Staten Island, & Long Island.” It was part of soon to be developed Prospect Park in 1860. In 1940, it became a playground.
Eloïse & Luca were playing together, nicely, for over two hours so I could zone out & look up at the sky.
Prospect Hts. is immediately under an incoming flight path to LaGuardia Airport. Beginning at about 6:15 AM 'til about 11:00 PM the flights can come over every few minutes. I don't know how that small airport accommodates so many arrivals.
I finally identified one as a Delta plane; the most common one seen.
Talk about busy air space; helicopter from Lower Manhattan to the Hamptons, incoming to LaGuardia & a high flying flight to somewhere distant.
A Crown Heights neighborhood walk down Bergen Street to Nostrand Ave. & back up St. Marks Ave.; east of our apartment.
"NO PARKING"
983 Bergen St. $2,900,000 - 4 bd 5 ba 2,628 sqft. Nicely painted fire hydrant & stanchions. I thought the painting was done by the contractor but then noticed all over B’klyn & Manhattan freshly painted fire hydrants & stanchions.
This had been a movie theater.

Recently painted fire hydrant already adorned with grafitti.
Happy on a break from work playing really good music.
A whiff of cannibis in the air.

He was really proud of his bike, pumping out loud hip hop from the barrel speaker on the rear left. Kim said the large rear sprocket was designed for doing wheelies; as we later discovered.
