The San Francisco Chronicle reported on September 20th that “ Marin has the highest overall vaccination rate of all counties in California and is among the top 10 most highly vaccinated counties in the U.S.” We are fortunate to be able to enjoy more here as this time of COVID 19 lingers.

We sold the 2007 Vespa & 1953 MG TD. In a moment of not mid life crisis but end of life crisis we purchased a 1962 MGA 1600 MK II. The auto has beautiful lines, about double the BHP of the TD, handles so much better & is more comfortable to sit in. The first & immediate upgrade was installing shoulder belts. The second was having a trailer hitch fabricated & installed so the Thule bike rack would fit onto the bike. I could then combine two passions.
We had planned a cross country road trip adventure to deliver a car to one of our sons in Brooklyn. Unfortunately many of the states we planned to visit were not as compliant in dealing with COVID 19 as Marin County. 29 days on the road, in states where hospital beds were not available, became unappealing & we called off the trip. We shipped the car to Brooklyn using a carrier that been used recently by a good friend. Montway Auto Transport arranged for Obek, who was an attorney in Uzbekistan, to pick up & transport the Kia. He lives in Brooklyn & personally drove & delivered the Kia.

TeD, the 1953 MG TD that we had been the caretakers of since 1997.

1962 MGA 1600 MK II. It was one of the last MGAs built before the MGB appeared in 1954. A little over 3,000 of this model MGA were manufactured. In 2012-2013 this auto underwent a loving & painstakingly detailed restoration by Gary in LeClaire, Iowa. The “8” was the temporary registration. That Ross Fire Dept. building in the background will soon be demolished. The fire department will be dispersed to other locales in Ross Valley.

Some other time, we'll do sections of this trip starting from home or Brooklyn..

Oybek, OK Tranportation, Inc., loading the Kia.

It's been nice to visit with friends once again.

And the work continued on the Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Rehab. Project with the asphalt paving.

A master metal worker in San Rafel fabricated a hitch welded to the frame of the A. I had found a detailed plan on line.

It was amazing that he had to order only one part, the hitch.

Then we had visiters from Broooklyn for a few weeks.

Getting ready for striping Sir Francis Drake Blvd.

These crews & machinery were just mesmerizing to watch in action. They were efficient & tried to be artists.

The fumes were noxious from the thermoplastic material, They did not wear respirator masks.

Four of us driving to Disneyland plus Minnie.

We were told this was 30% capacity!

We got to show the A in three separate car shows. This one was just MGs sponsored by our MG Owners Club.
