We visit the Mountain View Cemetery once or twice a year. Taking a cue from Naomi’s dad Bill Sinai, we “made a day of it.” We included architecture & murals in downtown Oakland, Fenton’s Creamery for lunch, explored parts of the Mountain View Cemetery, gathered food & coffee in Berkeley’s “gourmet ghetto,” & strolled along Solano Ave. into Albany. (We were in search of a greeting card/novelty store that we discovered was no longer in business.)
The view from I - 80. Always impressive.
Naomi caught sight of this tagged sign. How did they ever get away with that?
Naomi's first social work clients were in this hotel.

While bicycling recently, one of the folks mentioned the beautifully tiled Howden Market building in downtown Oakland. We were headed in that direction so we set Google maps for the building at 18th & Webster Streets.

Naomi's dad, Bill Sinai, graduated as a dentist from San Francisco's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1921. He set up his first dental office in this brick building.
